By joining OpenOwls, I accept the following pledge — not as a rule imposed upon me,
but as a commitment I make freely to my fellow Owls.
I believe that AI is not a shortcut. It is a tool — and like all tools, its value depends entirely on the intention and skill of the person holding it.
I believe that what we build here matters — not because it is assigned, but because real people will use it.
To my fellow Owls
I will share what I know without hesitation. When a teammate is stuck, I will stop and help — not because it is required, but because their success is part of mine.
To the work
I will not ship code I do not understand. I will spec before I build, review before I merge, and test before I claim it is done.
To the community
I will contribute to OpenOwls openly. What I learn here, I will pass forward to the Owls who come after me.
To Professor X-Owl's mission
I will use AI tools with intention — to learn faster, build better, and close the gap between what I study and what the world needs.
That membership in OpenOwls is a privilege, not a right.
That the group is only as strong as the trust we keep with each other.
That one day, when Q-Day arrives and Professor X-Owl reveals himself, I want to be someone he is proud to have guided.
Owls Helping Owls. Beyond my time as a student, I commit to carry this pledge forward as a Temple Owl — to mentor those who come after me, share what I know, stay connected, champion fellow Owls, represent Temple's values, and give back in whatever way I can.
